One of the most uniquely American celebrations is the independence day fireworks show. For this year, 2023, the Fourth of July lands on a Tuesday, making the federal holiday a bit awkward in terms of holiday time off for workers. Luckily, the whole weekend before is filled with events. How you choose to spend the summer holiday is up to you.
Fireworks Shows near Kahului, HI
There are too many fireworks shows to list them all here, so we’ll just focus on the only highly publicized ones. This one in particular has a lot more to offer than just the ‘oohs’ and ‘aahs’ of pyrotechnics. How about combining that with live music, including the groovy Chop Suey Jazz Orchestra.
What: Concert in the Park Annual 4th of July Celebration
Where: James Campbell Park: 684 Front Street, Lahaina, Hawaii, 96761
When: July 4th, 2023 | 5:00 PM – 10:00 PM
Who: Chop Suey Jazz Orchestra, Na Ali’i Big Band, Maui Community Band, and You!
Why: To celebrate Independence Day, hear great live music, and watch the fireworks.
If a big formal event like this isn’t really your style, look into parks closer to where you live and find out if there is a fireworks show nearby you can watch from the park. You’ll probably want to bring bug spray and sunscreen if you plan to get anywhere early enough to save yourself a good spot of grass. Oh, don’t forget a blanket or some lawn chairs, cold drinks, and a snack.
